Trip to Ulta....uh ohhhh

Hey everyone! I had to do some quick shopping for a dress today, and since I forced myself to skip the make-up store last time, I went in today, and of course came out with some great buys! But they're all new products to me, so I'm super excited to share with you what I bought and how it works for me!
Above is my purchase of the day. And I think I got quite a bit for my money considering last time i bought two things and my total was $91..ouch that hurt, but soooooo worth it!

My first go-to was the ANASTASIA EYEBROW POMADE.I have heard a lot of good things  about their eyebrow products. In fact, when I went into Ulta a few months ago, they had used the Anastasia eyebrow products on me and I liked them a lot. However, I decided to wait on buying it until I finished my eyebrow powder that I bought from Sally's beauty supply.
I bought this product in the shade "Chocolate" because that was recommended with my hair color. It's pomade, so I have a feeling a little will go a long way. I'm super excited to try it out!
$18

The next item I put in my basket was called "Perfect Hideaway" It included the two products from above "The Pore fessional" and "Fake up". These two products are suppose to minimize pores and fine lines. I've also heard good things about them!
$32
I then wandered over to the regular make-up that you would find in Drug Stores. Ulta tends to carry more of each product line then Wal-Mart or Target, which would be why this is the first time I have come across this! I have never struggled with acne or major breakouts and I'd like to keep it that way, which is why I find it very important to keep my face clean and moisturized, and that's exactly what this product does. MAYBELLINE FLASH CLEAN EXPRESS!
It's a 3 in 1.
Removes.
Cleanses.
Moisturizes.
How perfect!?
Better yet, you don't even have to rinse with water. All you do is rub the lotion on your face, and wipe off with a cotton pad!
I got this on sale today for $3.89

And finally EYELURE eyelashes.
I'm going to be honest, my eyelashes suck. There's literally nothing there. I have tried TONS of mascara and none can give me what I'm looking for. So I turn to fake eyelashes and I LOVE them because they enhance my entire look. And the best part is I can wear them multiple times if I take care of them.
$4.99
And that does it for my Ulta trip. I knew I had to get out of there before my bank account was hurting! But I'm excited to try these products and let you all know how they work by the end of the week!

Favorite Drug Store Hair Products

Hey everyone! Happy Monday! So as a hair stylist, I'm supposed to promote Salon Professional Products, and I will, but not in this post! I know that constantly buying from a salon can get pricey, believe me as I see the look on a customers face after I tell them their total, but it's definitely worth it!

But I'm going to be honest here, I don't have a ton of money to spend on expensive product, (I'd rather spend it on make-up :p) so I've decided to share with you all my favorite styling products that came right off Wal-Marts shelf. Shall we get started?

So what I got here are things I use every time I style my hair, no matter what the style. I bought all these things for the price of one thing at a salon, what a steal!

Aussie Instant Freeze Gel.
I have natural curl to my hair, so on days I want to wear it curly, this does the job. I had tried many other things and none of them hold like this does.
Wal-mart- $2.97
JOHN FRIEDA ROOT BOOSTER.
When I use it: Every time I blow dry my hair
How I use it: I divide my hair into sections and spray the booster and massage it in really well.
Then, blow dry your hair the opposite way for maximum results!
Price: Wal-Mart $4.97
L'OREAL BOOST IT
When I use it: Every time I style my hair
How I use it: I part sections on the crown of my head and spray onto roots. I then proceed to use a teasing comb for volume
Price: Wal-Mart $5.97

So there it is folks! My little secret, out! Not all drugstore products are bad, you just have to find the ones worth using that will get the job done!
Does anyone have any favorites or has tried these ones?!

Let me go hug a coconut tree now..

Since my hair was tragically chopped off in January =[ I’ve been looking high and low for ways to quickly grow my hair back out. And being a hair stylist and constantly doing things to my hair, it's a challenge. Aside from consistently getting trims, which I completely hate, conditioning treatments are essential.

This coconut oil/egg conditioning treatment is amazing if you’re trying to grow your hair out or your hair is desperately needing some moisture. Coconut oil will condition your hair, smoothing out frizz and adding moisture to dry hair and the egg contains tons of protein and vitamin D to promote hair growth. =]

What I use:
6 TABLESPOONS OF COCONUT OIL
3 EGGS

How I use it:
Whisk the coconut oil and eggs together until combined Massage into dry hair until completely covered and saturated. Cover your hair with a shower cap and leave it on for at least 30 minutes, but if you have more time – leave it on!

Rinse out with warm water, avoid shampooing if possible but if it’s more oily than you prefer rinse with a gentle shampoo.

Hair normally grows 1/2 inch a month, but with this scalp treatment, it can grow anywhere from 2-4 inches! Um wow!

Coconut oil is seriously the biggest rage on the internet right now!

  • Makeup Remover: Even the most resistant waterproof mascara doesn't stand a chance against coconut oil. Apply it directly to the face as an oil cleanser or let it sit on your skin with a cotton pad. Makeup will melt away.
  • Breath Freshener: Coconut oil has antifungal and antibacterial properties. Gargling for 20 minutes with a spoonful of oil (aka oil pulling) can help clear up germs in the mouth, leading to fresher breath, whiter teeth, and healthier gums.
  • Body Lotion: If you're a DIY mixologist, then coconut oil is a vanity essential. You can use this versatile oil as the base to make your own body moisturizer.
  • Cuticle Oil: Got cracked cuticles? Remedy peeling skin with a coconut balm right at the base of nails. It can also help your manicure to last longer.
  • Makeup Brush Cleaner: Cleaning your makeup brushes should be a monthly ritual. You can use a DIY cleanser that's two parts antibacterial soap and one part coconut oil.
  • Lip Balm: Coconut oil is the ideal remedy for chapped lips especially because it's semisolid at room temperature. Pack a bit in a miniature jar and smooth over lips all day long.
  • Stretch-Mark Cream: Expectant moms should keep a jar of coconut oil nearby to help ward off stretch marks, but anyone can use this as a topical treatment for scars. While the oil won't fade any marks, it can help prevent dark spots and blisters from forming.
  • Under-Eye Cream: Don't want to spend the extra money on eye cream? Use a dab of coconut oil on under-eye bags and fine lines. It's light enough for the most delicate skin on your face.
  • Body Scrub: Mix half a cup of coconut oil with a handful of coarse salt or sugar to create an exfoliator. The moisturizing oil will last long after the grains have melted away.
  • Frizz Tamer: Flyaways be gone with this smoothing treatment. Just rub a dime-size amount in your hands and smooth from midshaft to ends for frizz-free style that's high on shine.
  • Whitening Toothpaste: Run out of toothpaste? Grab the closest can of coconut oil and add baking soda for a quick fix. Everyone will wonder how you got such a white smile.
  • Shaving Cream: Who said shaving cream has to lather? Use this balm as a base to get a closer shave that leaves legs smooth instead of dried out.
  • Dandruff Treatment: Dandruff and dry scalp go hand in hand. So send moisture right to the roots with a nightly coconut oil treatment. Just apply lightly to roots and massage in, which will also stimulate hair growth.
  • Deodorant

Now, I don't know about anyone else, but that's pretty freaking fantastic!
I buy only Virgin/Organic Olive Oil (right from Wal Mart in the baking aisle). It's a bit pricey, but hey, it if it gets the job done!

Has anyone else tried the latest fad?!
