July Empties!

Happy Thursday loves! I hope my Random Fact post got you by for two days! Anywhooo, I made the "No Buy July" commitment at the end of June, so it's been a project. I had to stay out of the Makeup stores.. it was like the hardest thing in the world! My main goal out of all of this was to save money and use of some of the products I have, because I'm like a hoarder, hoarder of makeup and beauty products. I did however, cave in two days ago and by stuff for my face because I was getting bad breakouts, but so worth breaking the rules. So shall we get started?!

So there's a lot here, but I have way more unused stuff than I do used.

Biolage Ultra HydraSource Conditioner& Biolage ColorLast Shampoo
So I'll start with these. I LOVE LOVE LOVE, the HydraSource Conditioner. It just leaves my hair feeling brand new, so a lot of the time when I'm in the shower, I'll use it as a deep conditioner, just leave it on for3-5minutes. It seriously does the trick and I was really sad when I ran out. I will repurchase once I get rid  of some other conditioners- I have about 4 in the shower.

As for the ColorLast shampoo-It's not empty. I saw on pinterest to add prenatal vitamins to your shampoo to help with hair growth, so I did.I crushed up the vitamins and added them to my shampoo. However, every time I used the shampoo, I could see my color coming out in the suds. So, I stopped using it.

Healthy Sexy Hair- Soya Want It All & Biolage Kertindose DeepConditioner.
I've written in past blogs about how much I love the 22 in 1 spray. I spray it in when my hair is wet and when I dry it, it feels amazing! I also like to use this on my extensions after I wash them. I will be repurchasing this in the near future.

Same as the Kertindose Deep Conditioner. I was really impressed with this stuff. It's designed for over-processed hair, which is mine! I only used this stuff like once a week because it is expensive, but it was so worth it!

I

Coconut oil.
You all know how much I love my coconut oil. I use it all the time!! It's great for stimulating hair growth, deep conditioning, and my favorite- shaving your legs. I have never gotten a better shave then when I use this as my shaving cream. I actually had a back up for this when I ran it. So I continue to be happy. If you haven't, check out my blog on this fabulous product!

No shame. Let's be real ladies, during the summer, looking good while wearing those swimming suit is key. And if you're like me, you get red and bumpy, and ain't nobody got time for that! So I purchased this and it was a serious game changer in the shaving world. For less than $3, I think it was a total steal!

I purchased two boxes of these back in May when I saw how bad my nose looked. I'm so happy with this purchase because you can literally see all the crud( blackheads/whiteheads) these strips pull out of your nose.I have changed my cleansing routine, but I do plan to repurchase to keep these on hand!

I ran out of the cleansing pads for my Neutrogena Microdemabrasion brush. But I won't be repurchasing any time soon because I purchased a whole new brush system that I am seeing way better results on.

Loreal Super Slim& Urban Decay Ink for Eyes.
I love both of these eyeliners.
Super Slim is my go-to drugstore eyeliner that I will be repurchasing.
I used my Ulta Reward points to purchase my Ink for Eyes. I loved it-the whole 2-3 times I got to use it.
The cap kept popping off,and eventually I didn't notice and it dried out. I was super super sad about it. But I like it enough that I will purchase again sometime in the future.
I've been using NYX Liquid liner in place of these two, and I love it.

These are my two favorite primers. The only problem is, they're not cheap.
Moisture Blur is $22-however, i need a moisturizer on my face before applying foundation because my dry spots really stick out if I don't use on.
The Porefessional is amazing because it minimizes my pores and I can tell it makes a difference, but it goes for like $32 if you don't get it on a special.
I would like to repurchase at least one of these products, but I'm just not settled on which one.

Super sorry that I don't know how to rotate these pictures .
But you guys have seen me go on and on about Tarte Amazon Clay foundation. I love this stuff so much. I've been using Revlon Color Stay and Kat Von D Lockit foundation in it's place but they are definitley not comparable:( I even cut open my bottle to use everything that was left.I purchased in February andd ran out like beginning of July. For $38, I will be repurchasing because I have weddings coming up August-October and I know this will do the trick.

Rimmel BB cream is my go-toBB cream. I use the Medium/Dark shade after getting my SprayTans because it helps blend my face to match the rest of my body.I'm also out of the Light/Medium cream that I use when I'm not so tan.So I will be repurchasing

If you have never tried MaryKay Satin Lips-you are not living.
If you're a big lipstick/lipgloss wearer, or just have dry lips, you will be in love with this product.
It's a two step process. You apply the mask, and rub it in for like a minute or two, and then wipe off. All your dead skin comes with it!Then you apply the balm to come with it. It is seriously amazeballs! I prefer this system versus exfoliating my lips with a tooth brush. And if you're looking at getting some, I am a Mary Kay consultant and would love to assist you(:

I was using this for contouring because I  saw it in a  YouTube video. However, I didn't like it once I tried it but I used it up. I will not be repurchasing for that use.

I have finally hit pan on my favorite brow product.I am a freak about my eyebrows and was on the hunt for the perfect product forever and I finally found it. Anastasia Brow Pomade. for $18 I will be repurchasing when I'm completely out.

I like to wear this liquid eyeshadow from Hardcandy on my lazy days. I think it really makes my brown eyes pop out. I probably won't repurchase one anytime soon, but possibly in the future.

I bought this makeup remover at Ulta for like$3 and was really impressed with the fact that all you do is wipe on-wipe off. No water necessary.  And it took all my eye makeup off without me looking like the grudge.I'm using Netrugena wipes currently, so I won't need to repurchase anytime soon.

I hate this thing. I bought it at Wal-Mart as a dupe for the Beauty Blender. I even made it damp, so help make it less hard, and it didn't work and it definitely did not do the job. I will not repurchase this ever, and will continue to stick with my RealTechniques Beauty Sponge.

So there you have it! All the things I used up in July. Taking my collection down a little at a time! Next post will be on my updated face cleansing routine, you're gonna want to read that!

Big hair, don't care!

Hey everyone!  With it being a rainy night, I reached out to my audience and asked them what they wanted to see from me and a reply was "How to get volume to stay in thick hair". And Im over here,  like "heck ya, that's my specialty" . So here we are! I have naturally thick heavy hair, so this is all from experience. Everyone is different but these are some general tips.

1. Get the right hair products.
The products you use in the shower is also incredibly important, because shampoos and conditioners (especially conditioners) can weigh your hair down and make it look even more flat and limpy,  I’ve found that volumizing shampoos do work, but they are bit tricky. If you have colored your hair, beware – some formulas can strip or fade the color. And because volumizing shampoos give volume and are formulated not to weigh hair down, it does not contain so many conditioning agents; so it can dry out your hair a lot.
2.Try volumizing styling products.
Hair products that I feel really make a difference e are styling products. A volumizing mousse or rootboost, in my opinion, works just as well as volumizing shampoo without drying out your hair. I get asked all the time how I get my hair so big and what I use. Well its all right here in this video!

3. Use that blowdryer- the right way.
. A tip all the pros use is to blow dry your hair upside down – flip your head and blast the hot air from the nape of your neck to the crown, working backwards. Also, focus on blowing your roots. My favorite trick is blow drying the hair in the opposite direction at the roots. Pushing your hair on the left side of your head, to the right side of your head will create volume!  This technique works really well with a rootboost foam or a volume moose.
4. Teasing & backcombing.
Backcombing or “teasing” your hair at the crown and smoothing some hair over it will lift hair and not make it so flat. If you don't know how to do it, check out my video here.  Beware though, backcombing can be very damaging, but if you want some extra height at your roots, this works very well. Instead if a comb, I use my nylon brush from Sally beauty.
5.Heat it up.
Styling tools can give your hair some volume, especially curling irons. As you know, wavy hair always look more voluminous and fluffy. This takes practice though, and it can damage your hair if you do it too much. Always use a thermal protectant.
6. Stock up on dry shampoo.
Ive said it once, I'll say it again: MAKE DRY SHAMPOO YOUR BEST FRIEND! Here’s a general hair tip: Don’t wash it everyday! Use dry shampoos for the days you don’t wash your hair. I love my Redken Pillow Proof Dry Shampoo and my favorite part about it is that it gives a great start to teasing!

Also, KENRA 25 hairspray is my secret to a great hold!

I hope this helped all you beauties out there! Remember,  the bigger the hair, the closer to God!

Happy, Healthy hair for spring!

Hey everyone!  Instead of a makeup post, I've decided to go with a hair post because gorgeous, healthy hair is a must in the summer. And i just had this done to my hair.
There are many things that affect the texture, health,  and color of the hair. Things such as: hard water, chlorine,  and product.
Believe it or not having hard water (or iron in your water)  effects a lot with your hair ,including color. If you have blonde hair when you leave the salon, and notice it get brassy or gold as time goes on, it's probably because of the water you have.
Also same with perms, before we do perms will ask if they have hard water before doing the perm because the water can affect the results of the perm.
In the salon we also have a lot of parents bring their little girls in to get their hair chopped off because its ratty and tangled.  However alot of this problem comes from chlorine or lake water. It sounds crazy, but we all know how much kids love being in the water so just think how much is built up on their hair!
So as stylist,  our first approach to any of these problems is what we call a "Malibu Treatment" . A Malibu is a deep conditioning that strips the hair of any impurities, like the hard water, chlorine,  or built up product in the hair. It's a two step process and takes about an hour so its so worth it.
First you get shampooed with a Clarifying shampoo which I believe everyone should have in their house. We then apply the Malibu Crystal Gels that are dissovled in water. This is the step that naturally draws mineral deposits, chlorine and other impurities from the hair and scalp. After we apply the gel, you normally sit under the dryer for 30-45 minutes, the longer the better.
After the time is up, we'll shampoo you with the Clarifying shampoo again. Normally, after sitting under the dryer, you can literally see all the gunk that was built up on the hair, it's unbelievable!
Then the second part of the Malibu  is a condioner. Its a powerful reconstructor formulated with proteins that seek out hair's weak spots and rebuild only where damage exists. It strengthenz strands from within, resulting in the dramatic difference of restoring hair to its peak performance!

Hair Solutions from malibu:
Dry hair
Color correction
Fine hair
Damaged hair
Highlighted hair
Hair loss
Hard water
Swimmers hair
Softened water
Well water

Malibu Treatments are also great for scalp conditions such as:
Dandruff
Psoriasis
Eczema
Cradle Cap

I try to get a Malibu at least once a month,  if not more. It's seriously so beneficial for the hair in so many different ways.  I notice such a difference immediately after.
PARENTS- This a MUST for back to school for your little girls and would make a great "mommy, daughter date"
At our salon it's only $20 for something that works wonders. Believe me, you'll thank later! So ask your stylist about a Malibu treatment to have happy, healthy hair!!
